留学体験談 / Testimonial

Q.留学を通じて得た成果を教えてください
１：英語力の伸び 9ヶ月も現地にいれば程度の差こそあれど、どう足掻いても英語力は伸びる。インドアかつ英語を全く喋れなかった自分も、徐々に現地に馴染むことができた。
２：日本を国外から俯瞰的に見る能力国が異なれば、環境も異なる。鉄道の車内の様子、街の様子、大学を歩く学生達の装いなど日本のそれと比較する機会は毎日毎時間訪れてくる。その比較を楽しみ味わうことで日本的考え方や文化的背景の輪郭を掴むことができた。他人と話すことで自らの性格が初めて理解できるように、他の国の環境を知って初めて日本を深く理解することができたように感じる。
３：様々な知見シアトルは移民がとても多い街でもあり、大学内外に様々な背景を持った学生がいる。特にインド系とアジア系の背景を持った方々が多くいる。彼らとの交流によりそれぞれの国の考え方や文化的背景を知ることができた。それと同時にシアトルはテクノロジーの巨大企業が多くある。（Microsoft, Expedia, Amazon, Starbucks, Boeing等）。テクノロジーと多文化の共存を体現した街がシアトルであり、留学を通じて様々なことを学びたい学生にとっては良い環境だと感じた。
