Credit Transfer

Courses Taken Before Admission

It is possible to transfer courses already obtained from the GSAPS, other graduate schools of Waseda University, other universities in Japan or abroad into the GSAPS transcript upon approval.  Students who wish to transfer their courses should submit the necessary documents within the first term registration period so that they may be examined for similarities to the classes of the GSAPS by the board meeting.

a. Course details b. Course hours (highlight the given section by yourself)
*Make sure it includes the total course hours (Ex. = 90 mins (class hours) × 15 (times) + official outside-class hours if any).
You may include outside-class hours dedicated to the class if it is mentioned in official documentation.

③Transcript (copy acceptable)

④Grading criteria (copy acceptable) (Ex. A+=100-90, A=89-80, B=79-70, C=69-60)
※You cannot use the same transcript you submitted at the time of admission.
※Items ②③④ are not necessary for courses taken at GSAPS as a non-degree student.

How to Check the Results

Check notification on MyWaseda or transcript.
*Only successful application will be notified.

Remarks

・No more than a total of 10 credits can be transferred from other graduate schools at Waseda University, study abroad or other credits earned from other graduate schools after the student entered the GSAPS.
・There is no assurance that the transfer of the applied courses would be approved by GSAPS.  Therefore, it is recommended that one should register for courses equivalent to the number of credits you wish to transfer by completing the online course registration during the course registration period.

Courses Taken During Study Abroad

Please submit all the necessary documents by the designated deadline. There is no assurance that the transfer of the applied courses would be approved by GSAPS. PhD Students can also apply.

Remarks

・There is no assurance that the transfer of the applied courses would be approved by GSAPS.  Therefore, it is recommended that one should register for courses equivalent to the number of credits you wish to transfer by completing the online course registration during the course registration period.
・30 hours are calculated into 2 credits (maximum), however, under the EAUI program, the original number of the credits are transferred.
・No more than a total of 10 credits can be transferred from other graduate schools at Waseda University, study abroad or other credits earned from other graduate schools after the student entered the GSAPS.

※1 The credits which you acquired from the partner universities can be transferred if the score is above 60 graded on a 100-point scale. The credits you acquired under the EAUI Program can be transferred as an equivalent number of credits of GSAPS.
