■Research theme, outline of project research seminar, message to prospects:
This project is oriented to gain a deep insight into utilization of ICT in civic life and business, and to investigate policies for supporting it. It will focus on two major areas: the economic analysis of information and telecommunications; and the effects of information technology on economies, society and people's lives. Policies are considered as the application of economic ideas to promote further utilization of ICT.
Students involved in the course have come from the human and social sciences as well as the engineering and natural sciences. Working students are also welcome.
Students are expected, by utilizing ICT for solving social problems, to be an indispensable human resource for the 21st centry that can contribute to the society not only in developed countries but also in developing countries.
