Scholarship Honor<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Why did you choose Waseda University?<\/h3>\n<p>One of the reasons is that WASEDA is a very international university; I checked some information and I think that WASEDA will be helpful for foreign students like me. And I like to interact with foreign people and want to learn many other cultures, not only Japanese culture. I expect that WASEDA would help me to have more opportunities to make more friends from all over the world.<\/p>\n<h3>Did you have any worries before coming to Japan?<\/h3>\n<p>Actually not!\u00a0Before I came to Japan, I contacted a staff in WASEDA Taipei office, she gave me information and I also received emails from the Admissions office in Tokyo. Everything they had done for me was helpful. When I asked some questions by email, they responded quickly. I think all of staffs at graduate admission office, Waseda are friendly and helpful.<br \/>\nSo, I didn\u2019t worry much, but, only one thing I worried a little bit was \u2018language\u2019. Before coming here in Japan, I had already learned Japanese language for three years, but it was still not enough for living here.<br \/>\nNow, as I am a scholarship* student, I can concentrate on my research without worries for economy<br \/>\nproblem.<\/p>\n<p>*Ting Hsin International Group, Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp. Scholarship<\/p>\n<h3>Have you had any difficulties when you started a new life?<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Photo_HSU2-200x150.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3511\" alt=\"Photo_HSU2-200x150\" src=\"http:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Photo_HSU2-200x150.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>No, not at all. I think my ability to adapt myself to a new place is not bad. I usually travel around alone. And I moved out from my home to a dormitory when I was thirteen years old. Living in a new place is not difficult for me.<\/div>\n<div>I think, Japanese culture is similar to ours and familiar for me. Well, in Taiwan, I usually eat Japanese foods, watch Japanese TV programs and listen to Japanese songs. So living in Japan is very normal, now it is a little bit colder than in Taiwan though.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>How is your life in Japan and WASEDA? What are you doing on your free time?<\/h3>\n<p>I usually enjoy participating in students\u2019 club events, like *ICC\u2019s activities. ICC , they hold interesting Japanese cultural events: tea ceremony(\u8336\u9053), Kimono-wearing and Mochi- tuki(Rice cake making). For me, learning Japanese culture is one of my goals during studying abroad. I also participate in language exchange. My partners are Japanese ,so they help me much to adjust daily life in Japan.<br \/>\nIn Waseda, I actually have much free time, because I don\u2019t need to take experiment classes. I usually stay at my research office<br \/>\n*ICC: International Community Center, WASEDA University<\/p>\n<h3>How is the relationship with your supervisor, with your labs members?<\/h3>\n<p>People in the research office are very good; most of them are Japanese and it is a good opportunity for me to practice Japanese language. My professor is very friendly. He always asks me whether I have problems in daily life and he also asks all of SENPAI to help me, too. All of SENPAI are friendly and nice, of course. I think that students at WASEDA are open-minded.<\/p>\n<h3>What is your carrier goal after your degree completion?<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>After graduation, I\u2019d like to find some internship programs here, and I d\u2019 like to go back to Taiwan. I want take the exam of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) license. Now I study Mathematics and Financial Statistics, so, I think I can make myself better with the license and also it benefits me when I do job-hunting.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Short message to the prospective students.<\/h3>\n<h4>in English<\/h4>\n<p>It is my honor to be enrolled as a student of master program in Waseda University. With all the abundant resources, help provided by the staffs here, I adapt myself to this new life quickly and enjoy it very much.
