There are three key scaling parameters in this model: population size K, mutation rate μ, and mutation step size δ. In these lectures I will explain how by different choices of taking limits in these parameters, an amazing variety of asymptotic processes arise on different time scales. These capture on the qualitative scale several key features of biological evolution taking place on a hierarchy of time scales.

Dates (Japan Time)

April 22(Monday)　16:00-18:00

April 24(Wednesday)　16:00-18:00

Lecturer

Prof. Dr. Anton Bovier　 (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn)

Prof. Dr. Anton Bovier

Venue

Conference room 1, 1st Floor, 55N Bldg, Waseda University, Nishi-Waseda Campus (Access)/ Online via Zoom

Language

English

Audience

Researchers, Students
Open to the public through Zoom

Registration

Registration is required.
Please register here

Inquiries about lecture content

Takashi KUMAGAI (Professor, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University)
t-kumagai [at] waseda.jp

The Multiscale Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Waseda University will hold a special seminar titled “ […]

[18
126,83,142
post-19339","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","tag-education-en","tag-events-en","tag-lecture-en
["GET
