The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) annually presents the “MEXT award for Science and Technology” to individuals who have made outstanding achievements in research and development and promotion of understanding of science and technology, with the aim of motivating those involved in science and technology and contributing to raising the level of science and technology in Japan.<\/p>\n
