The book consisting two volumes entitled \u201cAn Introduction to Mathematical Fluid Dynamics 1, 2\u201d written by Professor Yoshihiro Shibata, the founding leader of the Mathematics and Physics Unit has just been published by Iwanami Shoten as two volumes in Iwanami Studies in Advanced Mathematics. This book provides a self-contained introduction to central topics of the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations in the natural geometric settings. The contents are based on a series of lectures on \u201cMathematical Fluid Dynamics\u201d by Professor Shibata for the TGU course of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.<\/p>\n
