On September 26th and 27th, 2023, the special lectures “Gaussian free fields and related topics” was held. We invited Professor Ofer Zeitouni (Weizmann Institute of Science and New York University) and Professor Yoshihiro Abe (Tohoku University) as speakers.
In the lectures, they talked about a relationship between random walk and discrete Gaussian free fields, extreme value of logarithmically correlated fields, for instance two dimensional Gaussian free field, and branching process and so on. Because the lectures covered from easy-to-understand introduction to recent research, there were many questions and it was meaningful time for participants. The lecture was delivered both at Waseda University and online via zoom. The number of participant was about 20 (on-site) and 30 (online).
