Get together with light, connect with light!<\/strong><\/p>\n

FENG Weinan, 2nd degree on Master program<\/p>\n

In Tsubokawa laboratory, we are focusing on studies of fiber-optic systems and new devices composed of optical waveguides. Recently, we are developing interests in optical network architectures with higher flexibility and reliability, light concentrators or light probes consisting of an optical fibers, and Nano-sized optical waveguide structures.<\/p>\n

In Tsubokawa laboratory, we have two seminars every week. The seminar consists of three parts which are \u201cPaper Reading\u201d, \u201cBook Reading\u201d and \u201cProgress Report\u201d respectively. In the \u201cPaper Reading\u201d seminar, the student in charge first chooses one paper and then analyses the innovation and the relation to our research to the other members and introduces his understanding of the paper. In the \u201cBook Reading\u201d seminar, all members read and learn the famous textbooks of our research field. Although the content may be basic, but we all believe it is important and useful to our research work. In the \u201cProgress Report\u201d seminar, students report their research progress, the problems they meet in the experiment and the experience they gain from investigation. And based on their report, professor Tsubokawa will give practical and useful comments.<\/p>\n

Every year, professor Tsubokawa will teach \u201cOptical transmission technologies\u201d, \u201cFiber optic measurement technology\u201d and \u201cOptical fiber engineering\u201d courses of our related field. In professor Tsubokawa\u2019s lectures, not only the basis of optical communication and measurement systems but also the most advanced optical transmission technologies and their applications in current optical fiber networks are introduced.<\/p>\n

Tsubokawa laboratory holds welcome party, New Year\u2019s party and farewell party every year, and the friendship between every member is promoted and our student life is enriched here!
