Interactive programming<\/strong>

In Tanaka Laboratory, future and ubiquitous information environment is the main research field.
\nThe research topics we are working at present are lifelog system, gesture recognition and augmented reality.
\nLifelog represents the act of recording one\u2019s personal data, such as photos and videos, continuously, or the record itself. Lifelog will contribute to review the things we have done and help us learn more about our lives. Gestures can originate from any bodily motion or state but commonly originate from the face or hand. Currently we focus in face and hand gesture recognition. Users can use simple gestures to control or interact with devices without physically touching them. Augmented reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated contents. Our goal is to realize the seamless fusion between the real world and the virtual world by using the techniques of Augmented Reality (AR).
\nIn our laboratory, we usually have a seminar every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday and Thursday, every student reports his current research status. We will discuss about research proposals to make progress and everyone is active in the discussion. Every Wednesday there is a freshmen seminar. New students can discuss about the chosen research papers with the help of senior students.
\nBesides the study and research in the laboratory, we usually have a welcome party and many laboratory activities. If you are interested in studying in interactive programming, please come and join us !<\/p>\n
