I entered Waseda University through the Kitakyushu Community Collaborative New Thought Entrance Examination, and in 4th year student in university, I joined the Yoshie Laboratory and worked on study.
\nIn Yoshie Laboratory, we are conducting a study of “community computing,” which analyzes information flowing in a community composed of humans, software, and hardware, and synthesizes the information to create a community. As the fundamental technology for this study, each student is working hard to bring novelty and highly useful results in each research area, such as machine learning and signal processing. Yoshie Laboratory has a wide range of research fields, allowing students to focus on their own research.
\nYoshie Laboratory has a total of 60 members, and 15 to 20 doctoral students belong to the laboratory at any given time. The master’s course seminars are held online in groups according to graduation dates, and one-on-one seminars with professors are held as students\u2019 progress in their studies. In the doctoral program, seminars are generally held on a one-on-one basis. In the seminars, students give presentations and participate in question-and-answer sessions to improve their presentation skills and consolidate their knowledge.
\nProfessor Yoshie gives students appropriate advice when they are stuck in their studies. He also discusses with us until we are satisfied. He also places a high value on academic-industrial alliance\u00a0and is vigorously promoting DX promotion mainly among small and medium-sized enterprises in the Waseda University IPS-Kitakyushu Consortium.
\nAs of June 2022, the Laboratory has regained its vitality, and we will be able to resume activities such as social gatherings and year-end parties.
