{"id":17630,"date":"2020-02-05T11:34:20","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T02:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/gips\/?p=17630"},"modified":"2025-12-16T15:33:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T06:33:00","slug":"notifcation-of-travelling-abroad-for-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/gips\/other-en\/2020\/02\/05\/17630\/","title":{"rendered":"Notification of Overseas Travel by International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/gips\/other\/2020\/02\/05\/17627\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u65e5\u672c\u8a9e\u7248\u306f\u3053\u3061\u3089\/Click here the Japanese version<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>International students enrolled at IPS who plan to be outside Japan for 30 consecutive days or more are required to submit the \u201cNotification of Overseas Travel by International Students\u201d in advance, prior to departure.<\/p>\n<p>This notification is a necessary procedure for the University to appropriately monitor students\u2019 activities based on their status of residence as \u201cStudent,\u201d and to ensure proper immigration management and smooth academic and research supervision.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1. Cases Where Submission Is Required<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nSubmission is mandatory in the following cases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When leaving Japan for 30 consecutive days or more due to reasons such as returning home, internships, research activities, or personal reasons<\/li>\n<li>When the student has already departed Japan and it is certain that the total period of stay outside Japan will be 30 days or more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please note:<\/em><br \/>\n*For absences of less than 30 days, students may be requested to submit the notification at the discretion of their academic supervisor. Please follow the instructions of your supervisor.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>2. Relationship to Status of Residence and Academic Activities<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nInternational students are granted the status of residence \u201cStudent\u201d on the premise that they engage in coursework and research activities in Japan.<br \/>\nIf a student does not engage in classes or research activities in Japan for an extended period without a justifiable reason, issues may arise regarding the validity of their status of residence.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, absence from classes for two months or more may be regarded as grounds for a leave of absence under the University regulations.<\/p>\n<p>If you plan to be outside Japan for an extended period, please be sure to consult your academic supervisor in advance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>3. Submission Method<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe Notification of Overseas Travel by International Students must be submitted online via the designated Forms system.<br \/>\nPaper submissions are not accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of the submission, the entered information will be automatically sent to both your academic supervisor and the IPS Office.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/RRNGzRNjEX?origin=lprLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u3010IPS\u3011\u7559\u5b66\u751f\u56fd\u5916\u79fb\u52d5\u5c4aForms\/ Notification of Overseas Travel by International Students(Forms)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>4.
