\nWith the goal of applying rational thought to bringing innovative visions to fruition, Tateno Laboratory conducts research on a wide-range of topics.
\n1. Plant maintenance support system development (chemical and petroleum plant pipe corrosion rate estimation, pipe interior damage image analysis and diagnosis).
\n2. PC built-to-order system development (establish PC performance evaluation methods, PC automatic selection and selection support system).
\n3. Inertial sensor tracking system (moving object data monitoring from base station with ZigBee wireless network)
\n4. Face and eye detection PC operation support system (web camera face, etc. detection provides mouse and keyboard operation support).<\/p>\n
\u30fbLaboratory features
\nThe first thing that catches the eye when visiting our laboratory are the red computers and vast number of computer parts. Each laboratory staff member has his or her own high-spec computer. At Tateno Laboratory, we learn what is important for a scientist by seeing the many needs that arise from daily life as opportunities to apply our ingenuity to creating solutions for them with what we have on hand. In addition, every Thursday all lab members take part in a research progress report and feedback session. Exchanging advice and sharing knowledge often brings a fresh perspective to one\u2019s research.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Seminar activities, etc.
\n1. In-depth and thorough programming language guidance
\nProgramming experience is preferred, but any level of experience is acceptable. All you need is a desire to learn.
\n2. Computer do-it-yourself building class
\nAnyone interested is encouraged to apply. The instructor provides careful and thoughtful guidance.
\n3. Take part in academic conferences.
\nAn opportunity to take part both as a presenter and organizer. Taking part in academic conferences is intended as a way to increase knowledge and motivation.<\/p>\n
