My research interests are in the areas of agricultural economics, development economics, and food policy centering on issues involving food consumption behavior and agricultural markets. I received my Ph.D. in Applied Economics (2007) and M.S. in Agricultural Economics (2003) from Cornell University, and a B.S. in Agriculture (2000) from Hokkaido University. Prior to joining Waseda University, I spent eight years as an assistant professor at the Hong Kong University of Science &amp; Technology (HKUST), and a year as a research fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO).
