\u25a0Abstract of the talk:
\n<\/span>
\nThe talk will start with a brief introduction of study designs in social,
\nbiological and medical sciences, with special references to Observational
\nStudy (OS) and Completely Randomized Experiment (CRE). How the causal
\ninference is related to CRE will be highlighted and the role of balancing
\nwith regard to key covariates in such cases will be explored. The notion of
\nre-randomization will be introduced and some related optimization issues
\nwill also be explained. The last part of the talk will try to elaborate on
\nhow an OS may be conceptualized through a hypothetical CRE. Few real life
\nexamples to substantiate the idea will be considered and several exciting
\nfindings, published in well-known research journals through such
\nconceptualization, will be described.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
