¡Ú³µÍסÛ
We developed a general equilibrium model to analyze the potential economic impact of a rice quota trading scheme in Japan. A few studies have been carried out to reflect the quality difference between the rice produced in Niigata and the rice produced outside of Niigata. Assuming consumer preferences over these two types of rice are different, the simulation result with Cobb-Douglas production technology and the one with Leontief production technology were compared. Each specification yielded similar results for rice prices and land rental rates, but the results varied significantly in its prediction of the number of rice production quotas traded.
