¡Ú¥¿¥¤¥È¥ë¡ÛPolitical Economy Field Experiments Become Possible.
¡Ú³µÍסÛ
An important part of a field experiment measuring the effectiveness of a proposed policy (social, environmental, public god provision, etc.) would be to gather information about its allocative efficiency. Efficiency measures are a standard part of lab experiments in economics. The talk will explain how efficiency is measured in the lab, why that method cannot be used in the field, and propose a new definition and new method that would allow observing allocative efficiency in the field. Initial demonstrations of the methodology will be discussed.
