¾ÜºÙ | ¡ÚÊó¹ð¼Ô¡Û¡§Vivien Fortat (GLOPE II ¹ñºÝ¸¦µæ°÷/ PhD Student, University of Rennes) ¡Ú¥¿¥¤¥È¥ë¡Û¡§Impact of cultural difference on the coordination of individual behaviour in network: experimental studies ¡Ú³µÍסۡ§Studies of individual choices in networks focus on how people take pre-departure decisions. We report the result of an experiment based on a stag-hunt game, designed to analyse how people make usage choices once they are in the network. We tested five different policies that are implementable by a network regulator (ranging from no intervention at all to a situation where a recommendation message, pictures of commuters not adopting group optimal behaviour, and financial punishment for those agents were displayed) in two different cultural areas to test how coordination could be increased and if the cultural frame mattered. Comparing data from Japanese and French subjects we were surprised to observe that French participants were on average more cooperative. However, this cooperation level was far from optimal in both countries. Pure equilibrium was almost never reached in groups. We found a cultural difference on some treatments, i.e., the impact of some treatments was different depending on the country where we conducted the sessions. |
