Questions will be interpreted by the moderator.<br \/>\n\u3010Interpretation\u3011Yes<br \/>\n\u3010Moderator\u3011\u3000Gakuto Takamura (ICL Research Staff; Professor, Faculty of Law, Waseda University)<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">\u3010Audience\u3011Students, faculty and staff, and the general public are welcome to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The public lecture, \u201cA Comparative Legal Study of Regulations for the Protection of Trees on Private Land in Urban Areas,\u201d was held on June 3, 2026, from 10:50 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a typhoon, the university campus was closed on the day of the event, and the lecture was therefore moved online at short notice. The organizers informed the expected participants of the Zoom link and proceeded with the event. As a result, attendance was limited to four participants. Nevertheless, the lecture was followed by a lively and productive discussion.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation began by highlighting the relative weakness of tree-protection regulations in Japan and the resulting decline of urban trees.
