    Jennifer Guest is Associate Professor of Japanese at the University of Oxford and a fellow of the Queen\u2019s College, where she teaches classical Japanese language and literature. Her research focuses on the reception of classical Chinese texts and modes of writing in premodern Japan, particularly within court culture of the tenth to thirteenth centuries, and on comparative approaches to thinking about translation, literary education, and the spread of literary languages.<\/span><\/p>\n
