You might wonder: What is SILS anyway? What does it stand for?
\nOr you might think: I\u2019m not sure I\u2019m really interested in \u201cLiberal Studies\u201d\u2026.
\nI\u2019m surprised that Waseda has such a school\u2026<\/p>\n
For all of you who have such thoughts.
\nWe challenge you to feel the \u201cRealness that begins in SILS.\u201d
\nWe challenge you to experience the 4 years that SILS students run through with full speed.<\/p>\n
With this in mind, we have been working on this video.<\/p>\n
The educational philosophy of SILS is Liberal Arts study.
\nLiberal Arts means studying various fields of knowledge, connecting the knowledge from those fields, and acquiring a comprehensive understanding about the world.
\nThrough study at SILS, students acquire Arts (or skills and abilities) and Liberal learning (or perspectives and ideas that can make us intellectually free).
\nThis means that you will learn to overcome ignorance and prejudice, become a self-sufficient person, and spread your wings to the world of freedom.<\/p>\n
The journeys taken by SILS students can be called “Borderless Journeys”.
\nOn these journeys, SILS students \u201cBreak the Walls\u201d that keep them from understanding the world and the people in it.<\/p>\n
Through this video, you can experience \u201cRealness in SILS”.<\/p>\n
