What’s an Internship?<\/h3>\n

An internship is designed to help you plan your future career path by allowing you to experience a job and improve your knowledge of a particular field while you are still in school. A student may be given up to 4 elective credits for graduation by doing internships. Generally, internships are unpaid.
\nPresently, there are 2 types of internships available at Waseda University. Please select the one that is the most ideal for achieving your goals.<\/p>\n

Two types of Internship<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Internships through the Waseda University Career Center<\/strong>
    \nThe Internship\u00a0Desk<\/a>\u00a0is located within the Waseda University Career Center and handles internship programs for the entire university.
    \nIn addition, the Waseda University Career Center is in charge of credit accreditation for internships developed by students. When you develop the internship on your own, you might be able to earn credits through that internship. Please check the homepage of\u00a0    the Career Center<\/a>\u00a0for details.<\/li>\n
  2. SILS Internship Program<\/strong>
    \nIn the SILS Internship Program, the following number of credits is awarded as elective course credits according to the number of working hours. These credits will be listed on the academic transcript. Your grade is based on an overall evaluation of submitted materials and an evaluation done by the internship host organization. A maximum of 2 credits can be awarded for a single internship.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Grade and Credits<\/h5>\n

    In the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) Internship Program, the following number of credits is awarded as credits for an elective course that students freely select according to the number of field work hours. These credits will be listed on the academic transcript. (Up to two credits will be accredited per internship.) Grade is an overall evaluation of submitted materials and the evaluation by the internship host organization.\u00a0 Two credits is the maximum for credits awarded for a single internship. However, since a student may hold another internship at a different company, government agency, etc., the total maximum number of credits awarded from internships is four.<\/p>\n

    Middle of December<\/td>\nMiddle of June<\/td>\nVisit the Global Network Center for the internship interview.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Middle of January<\/td>\nMiddle of July<\/td>\nNotification of Results (sent to accepted applicants only)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Middle of January<\/td>\nMiddle of July<\/td>\nAttend internship orientation. Submit your written pledge and departure notice for the internship. Receive the\u00a0\u300c Check sheet for Pre-internship Seminar\u300d<\/a>at the Global Network Center and watch the designated videos at Carrier Center. After the sheet has been stamped by the Career Center to verify that you have watched the designated video, submit the sheet to the Global Network Center.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    All successful applicants must participate the orientation and do the Internship responsibly. If you make trouble (Divulging of information, Damage to property) in the company, you have to accept the responsibility for the trouble.
