Dr. Vi\u1ec7t L\u00ea is a Vietnamese American artist, writer, and curator currently based in H\u00e0 N\u1ed9i. His writings have appeared in\u00a0positions<\/em>,\u00a0American Quarterly<\/em>, and other publications. He has also edited\u00a0(Re)Collecting Vi\u1ec7t Nam; Myriad Modernities: Southeast Asian Visual Cultures;\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Vi\u1ec7t Nam and US (BOL Journal),<\/em>\u00a0and other volumes. Yet has the war truly become a thing of the past? As those who lived through the war grow older and subsequent generations inherit their memories, experiences of war and displacement are increasingly being remembered not only through testimony and literature, but also through a wide range of artistic forms\u2014film, photography, music, and embodied performance.<\/p>\n Vietnamese American artist Vi\u1ec7t L\u00ea has long explored memories of war, refugee displacement, and diaspora through installation art incorporating film and photography, as well as through performance. In his recent work, L\u00ea has become particularly interested in the relationship between the body and spirituality.
