The international and trans-regional nature of the 21st Century MSR has complicated the investment along the route, especially the Investor-State investment relations. My research will, first, summarize the bilateral agreements involving investment rules on the MSR, in order to avoid the shortcomings of the existing mechanisms and, then, try to propose the construction of a realistic dispute settlement mechanism.
