This study group, consisting of researchers studying various aspects of contemporary Japan, will continue focusing on topics of current interest which we share amongst our diverse disciplinary backgrounds of anthropology, sociology, and political science.
We aim to support each other’s research and writing by holding online colloquia throughout the year. In addition, we will co-sponsor talks by scholars abroad when possible, and encourage our students to join in and profit from the most recent scholarship.
This year, we will continue to hold a writing group, to assist our members in developing their writing projects with the aim of publication in peer-reviewed journals. We expect that our study group will foster the knowledge and scholarship of our own members, as well as our students, and contribute to the positive global reputation of GSAPS.
