Profile

Professor Hirano joined the faculty at WASEDA University in 1983. During his career he has been Swire Scholar at Oxford University, a visiting faculty at INSEAD, a visiting professor at HEC – Paris, and a specially appointed professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology, as well as serving various governmental and academic committees.  His areas of interests include information management, organizational design, international management and management of social ventures.  Professor Hirano is currently President of Japan Association for Information Systems (JPAIS).  He also teaches management to young artists and musicians at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
