Professor Omura received BA and MA from Keio University, and Ph.D. from Hosei University, Japan. After serving as professor of Hosei University, and he joined Waseda University. He also served as a member of Securities Analyst Examination Board, visiting researcher at MIT, visiting researcher at The University of Michigan, visiting researcher at New York University, chief executive researcher of Policy Research Institute, Ministry of Finance, deputy director-general of Economic Assessment and Policy Analysis, Cabinet Office, and president of Nippon Finance Association (NFA)
