While there seems to be no absolute right answer that applies to everyone in education, Minerva has received a great deal of attention from around the world as one model for the future of education. Since its inception in 2013, Minerva Schools at KGI has been a residential four-year university, where students live with their classmates in seven international cities and conduct joint projects with local companies and government agencies, etc., and where learning is designed based on the Science of Learning. The school has appealed to talented students from around the world by offering highly engaging seminar style classes using forum, its classroom and feedback technology platform.

In 2017, Minerva Schools welcomed its first Japanese students. In Japan, it is perceived as a difficult school to get into, even more so than Harvard University, but the reality of the situation is little known to many. Minerva was started by Ben Nelson, who wanted to find a solution to the problems of America’s universities, and in fact, we have learned a lot about the founding spirit and the process of starting up the university. There are many things that should be done.

In this seminar, Mr. Ben Nelson, founder of Minerva, will talk about the background and the founding of Minerva, its philosophy, the reality of education, and the future of education, He will also talk about the range of exciting initiatives that Minerva is leading to reform not only university but high school and professional learning as well. This seminar will be hosted by Prof. Ikegami of Waseda University Business School.

Date

24th September 12:00-13:15 (Japan time)

Language: English (with simultaneous translation in Japanese)

Format: ZOOM Webinar and Free of charge

Application form：https://forms.gle/skCtMBfNWxzSbmmA8 Please also apply from the QR code below:

-　 Three days before and on the day of the event, we will send the viewing URL to your registered email address.

Host

Hosted by Minerva Project, Waseda Global Strategic Leadership Institute (Future of Education Forum),　Waseda University Institute for Business and Finance Nissan Global Foundation

Speaker/ Ben Nelson,Founder, Chairman, and CEO

Ben Nelson is Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Minerva, and a visionary with a passion to reinvent higher education.
