\nAs part of his visit, Ambassador Akhmadi sat down with University President Aiji Tanaka to discuss how Waseda University could play a role in strengthening the relationship between Japan and Indonesia through student exchange programs and partnerships.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nAmbassador Akhmadi explained that the Indonesian government is currently focusing on strengthening higher-educational cooperation between Indonesia and top-level Universities in Japan, as many undergraduate students in Indonesia can take two semesters domestically or abroad as part of their studies. President Tanaka explained the various study abroad options for students who are looking to come to Waseda, as well as how the situation has been faring due to the improving Covid-19 situation. To this, Ambassador Akhmadi remarked that he was impressed not only with the numbers of incoming international students to Waseda, but also the University\u2019s efforts on encouraging its own Japanese students to go abroad.<\/p>\n<\/a>
\nWaseda University would like to express its thanks to Ambassador Akhmadi for taking the time to visit the University and provide the opportunities for both students and University personnel to reflect on the current relationship and ties between Indonesia and Japan.
