Hello everyone, my name is Peter Chai, and I am a second-year doctoral student at the Graduate School of Political Science. Have you ever heard of a student group called \u201cThe Student Advisors for Waseda Culture?\u201d If you are curious, let me introduce who we are and what we do, as a new member who joined in December 2024.<\/p>\n

Who are we? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

We are a student group that helps with the spreading and creation of Waseda culture from a \u201cstudent perspective,\u201d under the guidance of the Waseda Cultural Affairs Division. We come from diverse backgrounds: different departments, majors, school years, and nationalities, and we hope to show the charms of Waseda University to others!<\/p>\n

What do we do? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

We engage in the planning and implementation of two major events: Museum Week (May) and Waseda University Culture and Art Week (October), alongside office staff in the Waseda Cultural Affairs Division. We want to provide student perspectives when preparing the events and make sure that the participants have exciting and meaningful experiences through having fun and learning about Waseda culture at the same time! We make use of social media platforms to introduce Waseda culture, history, facilities, and events. We have cooperated with over 80 restaurants and cafes in the local area and introduced them to the event participants. Furthermore, we have the opportunity to propose and organize our own individual events related to Waseda culture.<\/p>\n

How do we work with each other? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

The student advisors are divided into three major teams \u201cCoordination,\u201d \u201cWalk Rally,\u201d and \u201cGoods Collaboration.\u201d The three teams work together to prepare for the two major events, and we build friendships with each other along the way.\"\" The \u201cCoordination\u201d team keeps track of the regular meetings of the student advisors and ensures a comfortable environment where the student advisors can actively exchange views and propose ideas. Team members also plan interesting activities for us to discover and rediscover the charms of Waseda University and deepen our friendships.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWalk Rally\u201d team plans activities that introduce the numerous museums of Waseda University and their exhibitions, such as the \u201cMuseum Word Puzzle,\u201d \u201cFind Waseda Bear,\u201d and museum tours. The team also uses social media platforms to provide useful information on campus facilities and student life. The \u201cGoods Collaboration\u201d team designs original goods to give to the participants during the two major events. To make the original goods both appealing and practical, the members brainstorm a range of ideas and choose from them through rounds of discussions. The team also works with local restaurants to plan the \u201cWasemeshi Stamp Rally\u201d and develop collaborative menus with them.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
