The lid and shoulder are covered with flowers, such as peonies, cherry blossoms and chrysanthemum, while a large frame covers three sides of the body. Within the frame are pheasants with chicks and a large vase in the center. Weeping cherry and chrysanthemum are arranged in vase in the Rikka style, while cherry blossoms and haze cover the lower portion of the frame. Although the basics of this design originated in China, it is made to look Japanese through the inclusion of cherry blossoms. The indigo blue underglaze is covered with a diagonal lattice with hanabishi patterns in gold, scattered with cherry blossoms.
