Feb. 9-16 CAMPUS Asia Spring Intensive Program has successfully finished!
CAMPUS Asia has just finished the Spring Intensive Program welcoming 19 students from Korea Univ. and Peking Univ. along with 18 from Waseda Univ. We also invited faculty and staff from KU and PU. We visited Otsuchi Town and Kamaishi City of Iwate Prefecture and attended several lectures from local people who are trying to re-build their hometown after 2011 earthquake and tsunami and had a number of discussion in the first half of the program. Back in Waseda, students reflected what was heard and felt in Iwate and put them into their performance with Mr. Kokido’s instruction in the second half of the program.
The earthquake happened at 14:26 on Friday, March 11, 2011. The evacuation place was too high and slipperly in the snowy Otsuchi Town, a lot of old people with their young grandchildren gave up climbing up and rather chose to stay at home…
