Outline of Student Selection

Student Enrollment
Enrollment is conducted each year in April and September. (The enrollment of non-degree students is conducted at the same times.)
Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria.
  1. Those who have graduated from university and those who expect to do so by March 2011*1.
  2. Those who have been awarded a bachelor's degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation and those who expect to be awarded one by March 2011*1.
  3. Those who have completed a regular 16-year course of school education overseas and those who expect to complete such a course by March 2011*1.
  4. Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
  5. Those who have spent three or more years at university, or who have completed a 15-year course of school education overseas, or those who expect to graduate in March 2011 and are recognized by the NFS as having acquired the prescribed credits with excellent academic results*2.
  6. Those who are recognized by the NFS through individual eligibility screening as possessing academic ability equal or superior to those who have graduated from university, and who will be 22 years of age or over*2 as of April 1, 2011*1.
  1. *1 Those applying to take the entrance examination in September 2011 should read 'September 2011' instead of March 2011.
  2. *2 Individual eligibility screening will be conducted prior to application regarding those applicants wishing to apply as in 5 and 6 above, so please contact the Graduate School of Finance, Accounting and Law Administration Office on +81-(0)3-3272-6784. The applications of those recognized through the individual eligibility screening as possessing academic ability equal or superior to those who have graduated from university will be accepted, and they will be permitted to sit the examination.
Selection Method
Selection, focusing mainly on the screening of documents and interviews, takes into consideration awareness of issues and goals, enthusiasm and, in the case of working people, their business experience and so on, based upon which an overall judgment is made.

  • * Requirements for school recommendation applications: A maximum of around 30 students per year will be admitted from among those selected as satisfying all of the following conditions.
  • - The applicant is expected to graduate from a university (faculty) by the time they wish to enter the school (or have done so within the past two years in the case of those already graduated).
  • - The number of credits entered on the applicant's transcript for the subjects for which they were graded 'excellent (80 points or more)' at the end of their 3rd year in the faculty (or upon graduation in the case of graduates) account for at least half of the total credits earned for the subjects studied.
  • - The applicant agrees with the founding spirit, educational principles and purposes of the NFS.
