About WBS

Overview

Waseda Business School (ex Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, International Business Administration Major, and Graduate School of Commerce, Master of Business Professional Degree Course as of April 1, 2007) defines the innovative engines of Japan as "strategic management", "entrepreneurship", and "technology management", on which basis we offer the 2 programs, MBA (for the development of specialist in business management) and MOT (for the development of professionals working collaboratively with technology and management).

Along with a clear vision of the ideal graduate, Waseda Business School developed an educational system for the development of highly professional talent based on the industrial-academic collaboration-oriented education and research. The MBA Program offers specialized learning in 6 themes in the 2 research fields, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship Management: Financing and Information; Organization and Human Resources; Strategy, Competition, and Venture; Marketing; and Account and Finance. The MOT Program further studies these 3 fields: Technology Management; Operations Management; and Information Technology.

The MOT Program takes into account the "Technology-direct Business Model", the new configuration of management that has been increasingly attracting attention. The lecture courses in the MOT Program are concentrated on Fridays, Saturdays, and weekday nights (with the exception of some incentive lectures), which enables the pursuit of earning a Master's Degree while continuing on with the careers.
