Course Enrollment

 

* Degree Programs will be transferred to the Graduate School of Commerce from April 2007

Students in the MBA Program and the MOT Program track will be able to select from a wide range of courses. At present, there are 90 courses which are specifically designed for MBA and MOT students. Students also have the option of taking courses offered through the MA Program in International Relations (113 courses at present), bringing the total number of courses to choose from to 199. This broad range of course options will allow each individual student to design a personalized curriculum to suit his or her career goals.

Students in the two-year program will finish nearly all required courses (19 courses) by the end of the first year, and during the second year they will engage in Project Research, which may include teamwork, study abroad on an exchange program, an internship, fieldwork or a master's thesis*. Students in the one-year program will complete all required coursework (minimum 21 courses) and a master' thesis within one year.

* A master's thesis is defined to include a research report, a new business plan, or a case study, etc.

Degree Requirements

To earn the master's degree, students must have completed a prescribed years of study, earned at least 50 credits, submitted a thesis after completing the prescribed course of study, fulfilled the necessary requirements, and pass the thesis and final examinations.

*1 "Basic Accounting", "Basic Statistics", and "Management Game I" are compulsory for MBA Program completion.
*2 "Basic Accounting", "Basic Statistics",  "Management Game I", and "Management and Technology" are compulsory for both MOT Program completion.
A lecture course in WBS is counted as 2 credits.("Basic Accounting" and "Basic Statistics" are counted as 1 credit.)
* The required credits for completion of the degree can include up to 10 credits taken at the graduate level at other divisions of Waseda University or at other universities (including those overseas).
 

Academic Degree

Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is conferred on a person who fulfills the respective requirements specified in the University and Graduate School Regulations.
