What is "Eco-campus" ? |
|---|---|---|
To be eco-friendly in Waseda University. |

The word “Eco” is short for “Economical,” “Ecological,” and “Environmental.” So, Eco Campus stands for the campus which is kind to the environment. Waseda University consists of about 60,000 students and teachers. If all of these people keep the environment in mind, it will have a great impact! You can try in daily life separating garbage by type, reducing the use of PET bottles and takeout foods, and so on. Let’s take the first step forward in protecting our environment. Please smoke only at the designated smoking lounges and areas. Smoking except in designated smoking lounges and areas is totally banned in Waseda University. Smoking outside the smoking areas is bad manners, even if you have a pocket ashtray. Please consider others, not to trouble them with your smoke. And of course, smoking under 20 years of age is prohibited by law. In Waseda University, we are also trying to separate the smoking areas completely: removing the ashtrays in lounges, prohibiting the sale of cigarettes in the school, periodically patrolling the campus by teachers. If you are harmed by smoking by others, please contact the department you belong or your research office, or the Student Affairs Section ■Student Affairs Section ■Eco Campus Promotion Division
