Born in Yamagata prefecture in 1984. Graduated from Kita-Murayama High School. Graduated from the School of Sport Sciences in March 2007. Won the Womens Sprint of the 78th 79th and 80th All Japan Ski Competitions. Won the 78th and 79th Free 10km section. At the 80th competition she won the Cross Country Women Relay section. Her hobby is listening to music.

’I really think I have grown up during these four years,” she says looking back thoughtfully. She has a soft and gentle personality but has been the No.1 woman student skier for three years. She has always recorded ideal standings, but she will retire from the skiing world after graduation from Waseda University. It is not a desirable retirement for all the people around her, but she contently smiles, ’I am going to try living a new life. Furthermore, I wouldn't want skiing as a job.” It is hard to imagine her laughing so much while talking, but Orui was not a social person at the time she entered university. She says she tended to do things on her own. ’I thought I had to do something about this, so I listened to what people around me said, and tried to find what was missing from myself.” Her world was opened wide not only by the members of the skiing club, but also by those people of various ages who participated in the skiing contests. ’Experiences in the world of sports are sure to be useful after graduation. It didn't matter whether I would succeed or not, I just thought I had to try my best in this world.”

Always coming out with ideal records, Orui became a kind of big sister to her younger teammates. She was happy to be relied on, but never gave out irresponsible advice. Orui says firmly ’Even if they aren't feeling too good, the thing they ought to do will always differ according to their own condition. I first wanted them to know what their actual condition was. If they can understand their own condition, they will naturally know what they ought to do.” There is no doubt that she has been relied on by many, given her true kindness.

To be a sports instructor is her dream after graduation. As a result of her discovering the fun of communicating with people through experiences in the skiing club and her wish for more and more people to enjoy sports, Orui chose this path. ’There are people such as young women who want to lose weight, and older people who want to maintain their health. I want to help each person according to their own purposes.” Many people are sure to receive her kindness and strength in the days to come.
