Unique activity of our student, "What are you doing?" :
This is Banzai (i.e. Hurrah) Union !

The leader of the Banzai Union, a junior in the School of Education, Mr. Yusuke Tani.

Rising Sun Banzai
At the summer training camp. "Rising Sun Banzai" in front of the blue sea!

People often ask me, “ What do you do in the Banzai union?” I just answer “We do Banzai.” But Banzai is not so simple. It is said that there are about seven hundreds thirty six different kinds of Banzai, some of which can be done by one person, but others of which require more than one. Sometimes we get the spectators involved, too!

But all kinds of Banzai have a common denominator. It is high vitality. Low vitality is against the spirit of Banzai. If a member of the Banzai union were to perform such Banzai, his spirit as a professional of Banzai would be brought into question, and he would be reprimanded by the older members until his head spun. That is why we try to maintain a high level of vitality. Sometimes we may push things to the limits of what is socially permitted in an effort to polish our skills.

We perform, in a word, on happy occasions. For the most part, our mission is to make guests happier by showing our artistic Banzai at weddings or parties. Recently, our degree of exposure in the media, both TV and magazines, has risen, so that we're starting to be known all over Japan. Eventually, we'd like to expand abroad, too, but we don't have any immediate plans for that.

We spend our time in the clubroom playing the guitar, playing computer games, winding toilet paper around the younger students, and doing other things that can't be mentioned here, trying to raise our professional consciousness.

I'd like you to keep our club in the corner of your memory and call us if your auspicious occasions need a little sprucing up. And if you have even a little interest in our group, please feel free to visit our clubroom any time. We are always waiting for you with an overheated welcome!!
