A call for volunteers for activities recommended by WAVOC!
You may be pressed with the regular examinations and reports. Are you dying for the summer holidays? If you want to have unique summer holidays, Waseda Weekly introduces the activities organized by the WAVOC (WAseda University Hirayama Ikuo Memorial VOlunteer Center). There are many kinds of volunteering works, for instance, ‘short stay type’, ‘one day type’, ‘experience-oriented’, ‘friendship-oriented’, ‘showy activity’, ‘moderate activity’ and so on. Whatever activities you may be interested in, let's visit the WAVOC and participate in a volunteering work.
Miyoshi Village, Satoyama: Experiencing Organic Agriculture Project
[Dates] : (recruited in two groups) The first group: 21-23 August (two night stay) The second group: 22-23 August (one night stay) [Place] : The village of Miyoshi, Awa District, Chiba Prefecture. [Activities] : To help with farming and to play with children at Satoyama [Number of Participants] : ten people for each group [Accommodation] : The house of Mr. Sugayama or ‘Everybody's House’ which is owned by an agricultural group [Cost] : 5,000yen or 3,000yen (These prices include accommodation and meals.) Travel expenses to Tateyama are paid by the participants. [How to Apply] : Write your name, address, phone number, the name of your faculty age, sex and your choice of the groups. The “Atom (Astroboy) Currency”: A festival for recycling
We are now recruiting project staff and day staff. Why not join us!

Thanksgiving for the Earth, Waseda Festival 2004
[Date] : 20 September (public holiday) [Place] : The Nishi-Waseda campus and the neighbouring area. [Activities] : Unless you participate in this event, you won't be able to imagine how different the streets around Waseda can be. Participants will talk with each other to create one "thing" after another. Here, everybody will play a leading role!
