Learn with pleasure and improve yourself in Waseda University!

“Learning what you want in an advantageous environment with pleasure.” It seems to be very simple but actually it is not so easy. This theme was the biggest factor in considering campus life when I decided to come to Japan, and now it has become real, thanks to the excellent curriculum of the School of Sport Sciences and my charming friends.

Currently, as a member of one of the clubs of the Waseda Sports Bridge, I am making plans for sporting events, creating free paper for information about sports, participating in sports watching events or study sessions, and doing many other activities.

The Waseda Sports Bridge was established by predecessors who were eager to work as a bridge connecting people, things, and information in sports society, and has lots of active members with high awareness. The club gives me a lot of inspiration and allows me to improve myself though the activities. One of most attractive points of the School of Sport Sciences is that you can acquire special knowledge and skills for the field you are interested in, independent from subjects or courses. The variety of the flexible curriculum provided by School of Sport Sciences, and the open mindedness of Waseda University gave me a truly perfect environment for learning with pleasure.

The School of Sport Sciences also provides many classes including “Field Service Work,” which allows the students to acquire knowledge about nature and to enhance communication with friends through a three-day camp, or a small-group English conversation class called Tutorial English, consisting of one native tutor and 3 or 4 students. They give you not only practical knowledge, but also opportunities to cooperate with people. I think the friendly atmosphere that is unique to the School of Sport Sciences has been created by communication and cooperation between students through these classes.

When I realized that the K League (the Korean Professional Football League) had some problems that needed to be solved, I decided to reform and improve the K League. I chose Waseda University because it is the best option for my future. Student life at Waseda University reminded me of the importance of communication with many people and understanding various values. I believe it will be an important asset in my future.
