Features of the Curriculum

Thorough introduction education
Together with the Sports Culture Seminar that allows students to understand various aspects of sports sciences properly during the first year, the homeroom function is provided to carry thorough introduction education that enables smooth learning during the first year of campus life.

Open and flexible curriculum design
Including subjects in the Open Education Center and credits of other schools or other universities, up to 30 credits are accepted as credits to graduate. In addition, all subjects are provided in one semester to improve efficiency of learning, and to support overseas education.

Unique internship fieldwork
Internship fieldwork classes are provided in cooperation with various institutes outside Waseda University. “Sports Business Fieldwork,” “Fitness Promotion Fieldwork,” “Trainer Fieldwork,” “Top Performance Fieldwork II” and other fieldwork in various sports business sites are available.

Master's Degree in five years at the earliest
Through education from undergraduate school to the Graduate School of Sport Sciences enables top performers to get a master's degree in five years at the earliest.

Practical English education useful in the real world
The super-small group language class consisting of one internationally experienced tutor and four students, called “Tutorial English” is a required subject. Our unique language class, “Sports English,” that allows students to learn expressions and terms specific to sports is also available.

Fulfilling professional education
We provide fulfilling professional education supporting a variety of career options for students such as physical-education teacher, instructor, operator of sports facility, and sports journalist.

Seminar education starting in the second year
To bring out the interest of students properly, we provide advanced specialist training. For example, the students can select the course basic seminar or the special seminar in the second term of the second year after the introduction education.
