Students at the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) come from 50 countries and 30% of the student body is non-Japanese. After graduation, they go on to jobs or post-graduate studies not only in Japan but also in many other countries. SILS has a policy of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary education, and was selected in 2008 by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for its Good Practice Program. The Global Network Center (GNC) opened as part of this program in April, 2009. GNC activities will further SILS’s efforts to produce graduates capable of contributing to diverse societies all over the world.

New agreements for SILS study abroad program (Exchange) were concluded between Yonsei University Underwood International
College in South Korea and Chulalongkorn University, Bachelor of Arts Program in
Language and
Culture in Thalland. Both programs are based on liberal arts in English as well as SILS.
Sending students for the study abroad program is planned to start in 2010 Fall.
