About us

Tsuneda Laboratory was born in April 1996 in Department of Chemical Engineering. Then, in April 2007, with the reorganization of our faculty, we moved to Department of Life Science and Medical Bioscience with the mission of promoting the integration of science/engineering and medicine. In addition, in April 2008, our lab was relocated to the newly established Center for Advanced Biomedical Sciences in the vicinity of Tokyo Women's Medical University (aka TWIns). To challenge a new fusion research, we have been actively promoting joint research with Tokyo Women's Medical University, Yamanashi University School of Medicine, Juntendo University School of Medicine, RIKEN, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, AIST and so on. In our research, we will firstly clarify in detail what microbial and animal cells serve at a single or multiple states with a full use of molecular biological techniques, and then develop applied technologies to maximize their functions in the field of medical care, health care, food industry and environment conservation.
