ASMeW Movie
Strategic Management Center is responsible for managing activities of ASMeW strategically, including commercialization of research outcomes, and operations and solutions of collaboration among industry, academic, and government organizations. The Center also serves to enhance the publicfs understanding of science and technology as well as to promote ASMeWfs publicity. The Center devises concepts to turn research outcomes into economic significance and support collaboration between Waseda University and external institutions.
The Institute for Biomedical Engineering(BME) was established in July 2004 as one of the core elements of ASMeW. Not only interdisciplinary collaboration within our university but also the establishment of external partnerships is strongly promoted, so that the emergence of new fields can be expected to result from the synergistic effect of joint and consolidated research efforts. Currently, eight research domains have been selected with the aim of becoming a center for dissemination of information in respective research fields to the world.

The Super Open Laboratory(SOL) was founded in April 2005, which provides researchers with opportunities to acquire skills crucial for performing advanced research, such as nanometer scale fabrication skills, analytical measurement and evaluation skills, and biotechnology skills. The SOL also contributes to the implementation of the curriculum to train STOs.
ASMeW is planning to establish Consolidated Graduate School of Advanced Science and Medical Care (tentative name) in cooperation with the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, in order to effectively and strongly promote interdisciplinary research and education between advanced science and medical health care. Our approach is to develop a joint graduate school in cooperation with Tokyo Womenfs Medical University and other institutions as well as internal organizations for medical health care and medical engineering.
