■About Research Institute of Business Administration (RIBA)


Since its foundation in 1882, Waseda University has been recognized as one of the top universities in Japan and has become globalized with over 5,000 international students from over 100 countries. As for the mission of the school, Waseda University is committed to improving the well-being of societies across the word by transforming students into leaders of the future through education. Waseda University has produced a large number of leaders who make a difference in a wide range of fields such as business, journalism, literature, arts, science, government, and politics.

The Research Institute of Business Administration (RIBA) was founded in 1974 to facilitate the research activities of faculty members from the Waseda University School of Commerce, Graduate School of Commerce, and Graduate School of Accountancy. Its mission is to bridge academia and industry. RIBA provides research opportunities and support for the faculty’s research activities.

RIBA provides the faculty with funds for their frontier research and publishes a peer-reviewed journal along with working papers. It also holds workshops and seminars for students, researchers, and professionals, and annually hosts forums for the general audience on topical and relevant business and economic issues.
