Basic Principles of Academic Research Collaboration with External Bodies
On May 29, 1990, Waseda University established guidelines on academic research collaboration with external bodies, and the Review Committee for Academic Research Collaboration with External Bodies (hereinafter referred to as the “Guideline Committee”) began examining and evaluating academic research collaboration programs with external bodies, etc., for the acceptance of external funding.

We shall
1. respect the freedom and independence of all studies,
2.
conduct
research programs that contribute to world peace and the well-
being of our
fellow man and not for military studies or development,
3.
strive to
develop research activities and improve education at Waseda
University,
4.
not engage in
confidential studies in which results are not disclosed
(the same shall not
apply to reasonable restrictions on the announcement of
study results based on
trust with
contract/joint researchers),
5. be socially fair, and
6.
disclose
related documents and make relevant decisions on academic
research collaboration
democratically.
