(Important) Notice of employment such as a researcher and part-time job

 

Social insurance must be subscribed when a certain hours exceeds in employing a researcher or part-time job to engage in educational research work under University budget (include external funding).  Please note the following points.  

 

1.      The case which social insurance must be subscribed

 

(1)  When daytime student is employed daytime

 

* When the regular work hours for one week exceed 27 hours

 

  In addition, the following case is not applicable.  

 

   * When employed for less than two months

 

 Even if a contract without specifying the period of employment or a contract for less than two months, subscribing a social insurance is required upon carrying out renewal of repetition of this contract.

 

Daytime student  

 Daytime Student means a student except those who take the correspondence course, evening course at University, or the definite tense course of a high school under Article 1 of the School Education Law.

 However, following students are not considered as daytime students:

     A person who is under temporary absence from school

     Except a person who attends the school which does not require a fixed number of days of attendance and are able to engage in project under the same working condition to other workers.

 

(2)  When person other than a daytime student is employed

 

Social Insurance is required for the case which work hour is for 20 hours or more per week and employed continuously for one year or more.  

 Social Insurance is required for the case which work hours per week exceed 28 hours in more than 2 month in the period of employment

 

Even if a contract without specifying the period of employment or a contract for less than two months, subscribing a social insurance is required upon carrying out renewal of repetition of this contract.

 

(3) The case which conditions above will be met when total work hours in several departments is counted

 

 Social Insurance is required when the conditions 1 and 2 will be met when the total working hours from several work places exceed the hours specified above.  

 

2. Procedures for covering social insurance

 

 In case of employing a researcher and part-timers, please follow the procedures below after holding an interview about working conditions, job descriptions in two or more workplaces (working hours per week, working period, etc.). Please affirm whether subscription of social insurance is required.

 

(1)      When social insurance is not required

Employment procedure follows as usual.

 

(2)   When social insurance is required

     Please ask a person who is to be hired to register at The Campus, inc., and accept in it as a temporary employee from the company.

    In addition, since use of an employment agency such as The Campus,inc may not be admitted in employment by a public research fund, please confirm in advance to a contract / accounting section of the relevant research subsidy on campus.  

 

     It may be considered that the university employs when salary processing is being gone through each department office even the part-time job whom the faculty staff employed directly. Please follow the procedures above when social insurance is required after checking by the above-mentioned regulations.

 

     Social insurance :

 Various public insurance, such as welfare pension insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance. When employed by fixed conditions, duty for social insurance is compulsorily occures. Employer's share of social insurance contribution is required for employer, and individual payment for social insurance occures for a person-himself/herself burden premium. In addition, when there is subscription breach of duty about social insurance, it is considered that payment of Employer's share of social insurance contribution and individual payment for socia insurance retroactively goes back to the time of employment.
