Preliminary Report of the Fourth Excavation at Dahshur North, Egypt
The fourth season was conducted from November 1998 to January 1999, and the Room H containing the large granite sarcophagus was investigated. This unfinished sarcophagus bears the name of Mes, and the same name has been seen on the finds denuded in the previous seasons. Judging from other finds including the inscriptions on the wine jar and the style of his shabtis, etc., Mes could be dated to the early period of the 19th Dynasty.
