The Major in Physics will provide students with a solid grounding in physics, which they will require after graduation when pursuing wide-ranging research into fundamental and applied physics. This could include discovering as-yet-unknown phenomena in physics, engaging with the challenge of breaking new ground in the discipline, or developing new technologies based on the principles of physics. For that purpose, students will study and do their graduation research in fields such as nuclear, particle, and radiation physics, astrophysics, mathematical physics, solid-state physics, biophysics, and physics-based engineering under supervision by instructors actively pursuing cutting-edge research in the fields.PhysicsABE, Hiroyuki Theoretical Particle PhysicsAOKI, Takao Quantum Optics HARAYAMA, Takahisa Nonlinear PhysicsHASEBE, Nobuyuki Experimental AstrophysicsHASEGAWA, Tsuyoshi Surface and Interface PhysicsKATAOKA, Jun Applied Radiation PhysicsKATSUFUJI, Takuro Complex Quantum PhysicsKOMATSU, Shinichi Optical Science and EngineeringMAEDA, Kei-ichi Relativistic Astrophysics and CosmologyMATSUDA, Azusa Experimental Low Temperature Condensed Matter PhysicsMIKHAILENKO Sergey Experimental BiophysicsMIZOKAWA, Takashi Electronic Correlation PhysicsMOCHIZUKI, Masahito Emergent Materials PhysicsMORISHIMA, Shigeo Image Information ProcessingNAKAZATO, Hiromichi Fundamental Theory of Quantum MechanicsNIIKURA, Hiromichi Atomic, Molecular and Optical PhysicsOTANI, Mitsuharu Mathematical PhysicsOZAWA, Tohru Mathematical PhysicsSAWADA, Hideyuki Fundamentals and Applications of Pattern Information Processing TABE, Yuka Soft Matter PhysicsTAKANO, Masatoshi Theoretical Nuclear PhysicsTAKANO, Mitsunori Theoretical BiophysicsTAKEUCHI, Atsushi Semiconductor Device EngineeringTORII, Shoji Experimental AstrophysicsUYEDA, Taro Molecular BiophysicsWASHIO, Masakazu High Quality Beam ScienceYAMADA, Shoichi Theoretical AstrophysicsYAMAZAKI, Yoshihiro Physics of Non-equilibrium SystemYASUDA, Kenji Experimental BiophysicsYORITA, Kohei High Energy Experimental Particle PhysicsYUASA, Kazuya Theoretical Quantum PhysicsFaculty & KeywordsDegree you can obtain ・Bachelor of Science・Bachelor of EngineeringM11
