Features of the Graduate School of Social SciencesWASEDA University Graduate School of Social SciencesIn addition to the traditional model of a graduate program that mainly focuses on researcher devel-opment, professional graduate schools are now being set up with direct connections to real-world businesses. Moreover, graduate programs are al-so being created with the main purpose of obtaining national certification. Therefore, we have seen a remarkable diversication of gradu-ate schools in the last few years.In response to the current situation, the Graduate School of Social Sciences has assembled a di-verse range of academic staff. Our goal is to develop not only researchers with a new interdis-ciplinary perspective, but also practitioners that have a high level of specialized knowledge.One of the advantages of this graduate program is that it actively recruits not only regular gradu-ate students but also foreign students, and people in the workforce, by providing evening classes as well.At the Graduate School of Social Sciences, a diverse staff provide research guidance to students. These instructors have been carrying out specialized research in graduate schools in the social, cultural, and natural sciences, otherwise classied as the sciences and humanities.
